Wild boar hunting. President D'Amico urges the technical table and asks councilor Pepe to intervene. Below is the note signed by the regional president of Copagri, Camillo D'Amico, addressed to the Regional Councilor for Agricultural Policies, Dino Pepe, and to the President of the Agriculture Council Commission, Hunting and Pesca, Lorenzo Berardinetti.
Dear Mr. Councilor for Agricultural Policies, Dino Pepe, and President of the Council Committee for Agriculture, Hunting and Fishing, Lorenzo Berardinetti, with the minutes signed at the headquarters of the Regional Agriculture Department by the President of the Territorial Hunting Area (ATC ) "Vastese", last September 23, formally all the Abruzzese ATCs adhered to the five-year plan for the containment of ungulates and the related implementing regulation.
On Sunday 11 October I participated in an assembly called by a group of belt leaders at the meeting room of the structure held by the municipality of Pollutri (CH) at the "San Venanzio" wood where, in addition to myself, the regional president was also present della Federcaccia, the national vice president of Free Hunting, the honorable Fabrizio Di Stefano and the president of the V council committee "Health" of the Abruzzo region, dr. Mario Olivieri and the request emerged with force to establish a specific technical table as soon as possible to prepare the changes in the merits of the implementing regulation for the containment of ungulates which, specifically, is particularly referred to wild boars but also needs appropriate and targeted corrective measures. also for deer and roe deer which are exponentially growing in numbers throughout the region.
The diligent establishment of the technical table in the middle of the current hunting season can be useful because, in the meantime, the vices and virtues of the implementing regulation will emerge on the field so as to suggest the best and effective corrections possible in order to make it as effective and incisive as possible.
Considering that there is no more time to lose given the emergency that emerges from the entire regional territory on the wild boar problem, having recognized the need to systematize a series of synergistic actions that concretely protect the major interests of the agricultural sector and safety of people, having established the need that no one can be called out of taking responsibility in the face of this situation, recognizing the urgency that everything must be regulated also to make this type of hunting from problem to opportunity I ask you to support the as soon as possible the present request by actively involving also the agricultural professional trade union representation as well as the environmentalist and hunting one.
