In session no. 402 of 10 February the Senator Francesco Bruzzone, head of the Lega Department for the wildlife, officially asked the Minister of the Interior to evaluate improvement actions aimed at implementing the effectiveness of the containment of wild boar populations, whose increase, now uncontrollable in many areas of the country, risks further increasing the damage to agriculture, animal husbandry, public safety and biodiversity.
Among these, the Senator of the Carroccio has expressly requested the adoption of the silencer, commonly used in many other European countries as a means to optimize the effectiveness of withdrawals e calm the numerous herds of wild boars, also present close to urban centers.
Bruzzone then asked whether the Minister deems it urgent to implement appropriate initiatives, also in the legislative field, to allow the use of "devices to attenuate the noise caused by the shot" - deleterious for the consequent transport of animals to roads or other communication routes - as part of the control actions carried out by the Regions, pursuant to art. 19, paragraph 2, of Law 157 / 92, while preventing and eliminating serious threats to security, to protect citizens.
