During the day yesterday, Sunday 2 July 2017, a capture was needed near the airport of Orio al Serio, in the province of Bergamo, due to theexcessive presence of hares in the grassy area of the grounds. The intervention was made possible thanks to the staff of theTerritorial area of hunting in the Bergamo plain. In addition, the voluntary hunting guards of the province of Bergamo were present.
At the end of the bar they have been counted 19 hares and now the next steps will be two. The first will consist in the ringing of the specimens, while the second will be the release of the same in the restocking areas of this part of Lombardy.
The catches were planned and developed by SACBO (Society for the Bergamo-Orio al Serio Civil Airport), the spa that manages the airport, in order to meet the ENAC regulations on the prevention of possible impacts through the removal of wild animals. Fortunately, the airport's operations continued on a regular basis and there were no interruptions and restrictions on air traffic.
