COMO: THE PROVINCE OPENS THE HUNT FOR SUEDE
The Province of Como, for the first time in its history, opens the chamois hunt. The provincial councilor for hunting, Mario Colombo, told the newspaper Il Giorno that it is a very modest collection of animals, 20 specimens out of an estimated population of about 650, in the alpine hunting areas "Alpi Comasche" and "Prealpi Comasche. ". A strictly selective sampling, addressed to sick, handicapped or otherwise under quality standards.
The management committees will nominally identify the qualified hunters. "There is a basic consideration - reads the article - which led to the opening of chamois hunting: the numbers of wildlife management certify that the head of ungulates has increased enormously". The collection can be made up to 31 December up to a maximum of 10 animals for each Alpine hunting district.
