«We give continuity to the action of the nine operators of Veneto Agriculture, fixed-term resumes for a total of 150 working days each in 2021, dedicated to the containment of wild boars in the area of Colli Park»: The request is made by Cia Padua, in light of the resumption of activities aimed at the eradication of ungulates in the area. Underlines the president of Cia Padova, Roberto Betto: "We thank the Veneto Region, as well as Veneto Agriculture and the Park Authority for having given a positive and rapid response to our requests, contained in a letter sent together with the others agricultural organizations to the competent authorities.
The contract of the nine selecontrollers had expired in November, we risked too long a period of inactivity. We hope that the next step will be the permanent hiring of employees, in order to give greater guarantee and solidity to the containment program itself. We need to set up a systematic activity, not spot-on, to secure both the crops of our agricultural entrepreneurs and the citizens. A year's work of farmers can be thwarted in one night: where they pass, the wild boars destroy everything, they do not look anyone in the face.
We have always said to ourselves that one of the declared objectives of the Park must be the containment of ungulates. We are called to put the selecontrollers in the conditions to perform their work in the best possible way, without further stop & go ». The fact that the nine operators were summarized in the winter period represents an added value: «It falls just when it is possible to capture numerous pregnant females, as well as young wild boars. These are very useful actions in order to contain the ungulate population in the following months. We are very confident in this regard: we have started a very fruitful dialogue on the issue with the Region, the Colli Park and Veneto Agriculture ».
