HUNT: The two researches "Italians and Hunting" and "Italian Hunters and Hunting" presented in Lecco by sociologist E. Finzi, President of AstraRicerche.
In Lombardy, 57 percent of residents say they are in favor of hunting. And Lombard hunters are tied to traditions but attentive to political decisions. Company lovers and socially engaged. Attentive and environmentally aware users, they constitute an economic driving force that creates employment.
This is the portrait that emerges from the two investigations by AstraRicerche, which the clients CNCN and FACE ITALIA kindly made available to FIOCCHI AMMUNIZIONI.
Monday, May 16, 2011 - the researches "Italians and Hunting" and "Italian Hunters and Hunting", commissioned to AstraRicerche by the National Hunting and Nature Committee (CNCN) and by the Hunting Associations that refer to FACE Italia (Federcaccia, Liberacaccia, AnuuMigratoristi, Enalcaccia).
To illustrate the results of the sociological survey was Professor Enrico Finzi who analyzed the relationship between Italians and hunting, highlighting that the majority of them are not opposed to regulated, regulated and sustainable hunting: in fact the 57 percent of the Lombard pro-hunting consensus is the main and conclusive result of the research, obtained by processing all the information collected in this vast survey that involved more than 2200 respondents, the largest sample ever involved in research on this sector.
Furthermore, the sociologist Finzi turned his attention to how hunters live their passion, demonstrating that they are citizens who deeply live their love for hunting (92% of the interviewees speak of love), but above all towards the nature of which they are attentive and aware users by dedicating themselves to outdoor activities in general, putting among their priorities (72%) those of responsible hunting, and placing poaching in first place (83%) among the phenomena that damage the hunters and hunters. Finally, the research highlighted the political weight of hunters, both locally and nationally, with the figure of 37% declaring that they are changing their electoral choices based on the positions of the various parties regarding hunting.
Marzio Maccacaro - commercial director of Fiocchi Munizioni - explains the significance of the initiative: “First of all I warmly thank the CNCN and the Hunting Associations gathered in FACE Italia, for having kindly made the two investigations they commissioned to AstraRicerche available to Fiocchi.
Professor Finzi pointed out that if the results of the first research allow us to understand that the more people know about hunting, the more they appreciate it (57% of Lombards are in favor of regulated hunting activities), with the second focused on the identikit of the hunter, his passions, his behavior, his preferences ".
Among the results illustrated, particular attention should also be given to the political data: “The hunters have not yet identified among the politicians someone who takes the issue of hunting to heart. Anyone who will listen to them and be the spokesperson for their requests - concludes Maccacaro - will be able to secure an electorate of no small importance ”.
The two researches, due to their high scientific basis, allow the hunting universe to counteract the attacks carried out by environmental and animal welfare associations, often on the basis of superficial data and unverifiable petitions regarding the authenticity of the signatures.
"Going among the people - declared the promoters of the CNCN and FACE Italia survey - and making themselves seen and known also through the most extensive and in-depth sociological research on the subject ever conducted, Italian hunters aim to counter the distorted image that so far, for convenience or for specific will, it has always found more space in the collective imagination. At the basis of this study is the commitment of the hunting world to better understand the feelings and opinions of Italians and hunters with respect to a hot and emotionally engaging topic, which too often does not leave room for a serene confrontation, based on arguments. scientific ".
"It seems very clear that - finally underlined the sociologist Enrico Finzi - if public opinion were made widely aware of the fact that 'wild' hunting is not allowed in Italy, the favor for the current hunting activity, as it is responsible and sustainable, would grow substantially. If the hunting world is able to win support for the idea and practice of sustainable hunting, it will be able to enjoy a majority and increasingly widespread support within the population "
