Two days ago the activists of the LAV (Anti-Vivisection League) they decided to organize a sit-in in front of the Decathlon stores of Milan, Turin, Rome-Fiumicino, Mantua, Padua, Catania, Bassano del Grappa, Bari, Venice, Florence, Bologna and Macerata. The animal rights association asked to reconvert the department that the famous chain of sporting goods has dedicated to hunting, cleaning the shelves entirely. The company therefore wanted to clarify its position on the page Facebook Journal.
Here is what the managers wrote: "Decathlon, which has had a multisport vocation for more than 40 years, responds with its offer, albeit partially, to the needs of this practice, as it does for over 150 sports. Our Solognac brand, which conceives most of our offer for hunters, but also for those who love to live in nature, promotes ethical and responsible hunting. We believe that being a hunter implies a strong responsibility, in engaging for the respect of bio-diversity, also in line with agricultural and forestry activities.
Our will is to operate transparently on the market, guaranteeing a basic offer, in order to be able to interpret the practice with the aforementioned responsibility". In short, the defense of the hunting world is very strong, as well as necessary given that already last April some animal rights activists protested against the brand and the line of accessories for hunters. The posters, banners and writings made headlines above all in Padua and Saronno, in the province of Varese.
