Sergio Chiamparino, governor of the Piedmont Region, e Giorgio Ferrero, regional councilor for agriculture, commented on the demonstration of hunters in Turin which took place last 8nd June. In fact, both met a delegation of those who attended the event and listened to their grievances. Chiamparino and Ferrero spoke with representatives of hunting associations and some politicians of the center-right.
As has been known for some time, in Piedmont a new hunting law is about to be approved, which causes a lot of discussion for the measures adopted, in particular the ban on Sunday hunting. The confrontation between the parties was defined as close, but still serene. All members had the opportunity to express their opinion and point of view on the regulatory text, especially on the role played by the hunting world in the Piedmont area.
But what exactly is the position of the Region in this case? The local authority has assured that the law was not designed to go against the hunting activity, but is the result of a six-month long work that involved the Commission. Chiamparino and Ferrero are convinced that the final result is a useful mediation to give Piedmont a hunting law that has been missing since 2012.
