On the run on the tracks
The quiet summer of Villa Opicina, a hamlet of Trieste, was marred by an incredible news story. A 14-year-old boy was electrocuted after inadvertently touching some electrical cables in the railway station area. According to what has been learned so far, the young man was on the tracks after fleeing with some friends from wild boars.
The contact and the fall
Just the friends of the 14-year-old reported that they had taken refuge in the railway for fear of the ungulates: the episode took place at night and the injured person could have climbed onto a freight car, touching the cables that would have thrown him away by several meters.
The health conditions
Rescue was immediate and the boy was immediately taken to the hospital, to be precise in Cattinara. His health conditions are defined as serious, so much so that he has a reserved prognosis. He suffered third-degree burns on 15% of his body, as well as various traumas due to the fall.
