ExpoRiva Hunting, Fishing, Environment ended for about a week in Trentino and the organizers wanted to make known an interesting manifesto which summarizes reflections and ideas on hunting. What exactly does it say? The preamble speaks of hunting and fishing as essential sustenance activities for mankind, as has practically always been the case. Their role in society has characterized cultural organization, religious beliefs and even artistic expressions.
A single thread binds the paintings of the '500 and the operatic compositions by Car Maria Von Weber, but also the literary work of Ernest Hemingway. In industrialized countries, hunting no longer has its historical function of sustenance, but still today it remains marked by well-coded rites. Hunters and fishermen, as stated in this manifesto, need today important skills, as well as knowledge and qualifications. Seven are the decisive points of this text. First of all, the Trentino Expo promotes hunting and wildlife observation as a sustainable use of the natural resource.
The second has to do with the protection of biodiversity, while the third point concerns communication and awareness: the Fair promotes communication initiatives for the technical and cultural growth of hunters. Hunting, then, is a cultural heritage to be preserved, without forgetting that the Expo wants to promote hunting as a moment of authentic immersion in the natural environment. The last two points are devoted to the economy and a specific commitment: ExpoRiva will encourage hunting as an economic and sustainable development activity, moreover it will not admit among its initiatives companies and products in contrast with all these principles.
