“Today on the official bulletin of Lombardy region the law approving the “Enhancement of the Lombard culture and tradition of spit from Brescia and other game-based preparations ”, a law presented by me and my colleague Massardi and which had been approved in the Council on 24 May. From today, therefore, it is officially allowed free cessation of small wild game coming from legitimately exercised hunting activity to be used for the Brescia spit and other traditional dishes.
The spit is traditionally served inside hotel accommodation facilities, markets, fairs, festivals and events organized by associations. The Region thus promotes the historical, cultural and food and wine value of this dish which is handed down from generation to generation on our territory. Moreover, the Brescia spit is also a tourist destination and its lack also negatively affected the area economically. I can only be satisfied with the work we have done, together with the mayors of Bresciano, to give this tradition the place and importance it deserves ”. She declares it Barbara Mazzali, regional councilor of the Brothers of Italy.
