Federcaccia organizes the "II Hunter's Trophy" in Genoa for continental and English pointing dogs on natural game, on Sunday 18 March and Sunday 1 April 2012.
The provincial section of the Italian Federation of Hunting in Genoa organizes the "II Hunter's Trophy" for continental and English pointing dogs. The purpose of the Trophy is to highlight and reward the pointing dog which is characterized by outstanding cinematic and hunting qualities on natural game, Sunday 18 March and Sunday 1 April 2012.
For this reason the event is divided into a series of 4 different tests: two woodcock tests, one test on natural game and one test on natural game with slaughter and retrieve. The Trophy is awarded to the dog that will have totaled the highest overall score by adding the points obtained in the individual tests.
The first two meetings are scheduled for Sunday 18 March at 6,30 in Casella at the headquarters of the Green Cross and Sunday 1 April at 6,30 in Masone, motorway exit after the roundabout on the right.
Registration must take place no later than the Thursday before each individual test. The registration fee for the woodcock trials is € 20,00. Registrations are received at the FIDC of Genoa 010884253.
The Trophy takes place over four tests: two tests on woodcocks, one test on game, one test on game with slaughter and retrieve.
Tests on woodcocks: the dogs compete with a single 15-minute shift.
Try natural game: the dogs compete in pairs of 15 minutes.
Try natural game with culling and carryover: the dogs will carry out the 15-minute single turn, when the game whirls the federal shooter will shoot down the head and the competing dog will have to bring it back.
Retention in the whisk: during the individual tests, after the stop, the handler can tie the dog at the moment he deems most appropriate, if the dog is not tied, it is tolerated that he resumes the search without chasing the game thoroughly, as happens in a normal hunting action .
Consensus: both spontaneous and command consent is valid, however it is tolerated that the dog does not give consent as long as it does not disturb the other dog.
Scores: the dog that during the shift did not have the possibility to stop, will in any case be assigned a score relative to the demonstrated qualities, naturally the score relative to the "stopped" item will be 0.
For the award of the Trophy the dog must stop at least once.
Woodcock test judges: Gabriele Morsia and Alessandro Vitali. Registration must take place no later than the Thursday before each individual test. The registration fee for the woodcock trials is € 20,00. Registrations are received at the FIDC of Genoa 010884253
