A prize for hunting teams that cut down the greatest number of boars. This is the new criterion that has revolutionized, starting from last year, the management of the territorial areas dedicated to hunting. The case also ended up in court, but according to the judges of the Tar the principle is fully legitimate. The assignment of zone number 9 of thehunting area Frosinone 1 , falling within the municipality of Paliano, to the "Squadraccia di Paliano". However, the decision was challenged by another group of hunters who challenged the new requirement for granting the bonus. Previously, in fact, the award (eleven points for each team member) was reserved for the team already assigned to the hunting area.
The principle of the legislation favored the conservation of the hunting areas giving, through the abundant prize, to the assigned teams a sort of pre-emption right over the other contenders. With the new directive approved in October last year, the Lazio Region has changed the cards by providing a reward score for the hunting teams that kill the greatest number of wild boars. Based on this new requirement, hunting area number 9 has been assigned to the "Squadraccia di Paliano". However, the assignment was challenged before the TAR asking for the suspension of the provision.
In addition to the merits, the applicants also complained that the hunting activity had been conditioned by the emergency linked to Covid. Both the Lazio Region and the Frosinone 1 hunting territorial area defended by the lawyer Bruno Marucci have formed against the appeal. The Lazio Region, with respect to the disputes on the hunting limits imposed by the pandemic, pointed out that in the formula for calculating the score it was foreseen a lower coefficient precisely in light of the particular moment characterized by the health emergency. On the merits, the TAR agreed on all the reasons (The messenger).
