In two days in the province of Grosseto there are already two hunters attacked by wild boars during hunting trips.
The first to be attacked by a wild boar was a 54-year-old hunter from Grosseto who was attacked by a wild boar on the morning of November 24th while he was participating in a hunting trip in Maremma with some companions. The man was in the woods between Montorsaio and Pietratonda when suddenly he found himself face to face with a large boar that attacked him by biting him repeatedly in the leg causing him to fall to the ground and causing deep and extensive wounds.
The man fought with the animal, resisting with tenacity the assaults with fangs and for a few moments he feared the worst but in a short time the other hunters of the team arrived who managed to put the boar to flight and after having lent him first aid immediately required an ambulance.
Shortly afterwards, the 118 volunteers arrived on site and transported the injured hunter to the Emergency Department of the Misericordia hospital where he received the necessary medical care; the attack suffered by the wild boar gave him a dozen stitches to mend the wounds in his leg, other lacerated bruised wounds that did not need to be sutured, numerous abrasions and bruises but above all fright and pain that will not make him forget this day easily hunting.
The next day, last November 25, another hunter was attacked by a wild boar during a hunting trip in Stiacciole, near Grosseto. Also in this case the wild boar, probably frightened by the dogs that hunted him and by the hunters themselves, reacted by attacking the hunter who was in front of him at that moment.
More or less similar to the one preceding the outcome of the boar attack; in fact, the hunter was rescued by his companions, who in the meantime rushed to his aid, who put the animal to flight and asked for the intervention of 118. The second hunter was also transported to the emergency room of the Misericordia hospital of Grosseto where he was medicated for his injuries.
