Hunting accident: A day of celebration has become a day marked by mourning. Investigations are still underway by the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Vasto to reconstruct the dynamics of the death of Nicola Costanzo, a 58-year-old worker from Guardiabruna, a hamlet of Torrebruna.
The man, an expert hunter, "among the best in the country" friends say, had gone out in a group for the wild boar hunting. While the hunt was in progress, the alarm went off among the colleagues, as Costanzo did not answer the transceiver or even the mobile phone. They started looking for him until they found the lifeless body in the vegetation, next to him was his hunting dog.
The carabinieri from the Celenza sul Trigno station arrived on the spot, then joined by Major Giancarlo Vitiello, commander of the Vasto company, by Lieutenant Domenico Fiorini and by the Carabinieri of the Ris, scientific investigation department. In Torrebruna also the magistrate Giancarlo Ciani, who has been entrusted with the investigation.
After the surveys, the body of Nicola Costanzo was transferred to the morgue of San Pio da Pietrelcina in Vasto, where an autopsy will be carried out on Tuesday. It was not easy to reach the area due to the rugged nature of the terrain. In order to get the means for the recovery of the body it was necessary to use a bulldozer.
Great consternation to Guardiabruna for this tragic disappearance. Costanzo leaves his wife and two children, but the whole community is saddened by this tragic episode.
