“A very positive result - says the commissioner of the Province, Piero Fossati - in the containment of wild boars, whose proliferation and spread has become a pressing emergency. The number of requests for intervention and reports of damage and devastation in vegetable gardens, vineyards, olive groves, terraces, but also on the slopes and on the course of the small rivers that come from the agricultural world and from many citizens of the territory is the very high.
In addition, in the whole of 2012, with the specific control interventions of the species coordinated by the Provincial Police, another 760 were captured boars "In the areas where their pressure has been more critical and unsustainable - says Piero Fossati - for agricultural crops, the safety of transit, especially for motorcyclists and scooter riders and also for the safety of people, especially in the areas closest to the 'inhabited area where, unfortunately, some reckless attract these large wild ungulates continuing, despite the prohibitions, the illegal and absurd habit of feeding them as if they were kittens or dogs ”.
