Hunting and Fauna: Treviso, the deputy mayor denounces the serious problems caused by otters in the countryside but also in the city and asks for the green light for the intervention of hunters.
The deputy mayor of Treviso, Giancarlo Gentilini, writes to the higher institutional bodies, up to the Prime Minister, denouncing for the umpteenth time the serious problems created by the otters, in increasing numbers in the local countryside but increasingly present in the city, asking that effective as well as drastic solutions are undertaken. Gentilini lists the problems caused to these beavers including the damage to the banks of the waterways, the fear of all the inhabitants who live along rivers and ditches for the aggressiveness of these animals.
Deputy Mayor Gentilini finally proposes his own solution to the problem, “I ask for a measure which, given the calamity caused by these rodents, authorizes, without hesitation and without listening to animal rights activists, hunters to kill these animals both in the countryside and in the cities. I am an Alpine who during the period of naia (.. in 1956 ...) was ready to take the Winchester rifle against the enemy so I believe that the current one represented by the nutrie should be eliminated in the same way ".
