Hunters and Hunters: Brescia, hunter saves abandoned litter "Hunter's heart".
In recent days, the hound hunter Giuseppe Ghidinelli from Sopraponte, known for his World Champion hounds, had a strange encounter: he left early in the morning together with his hunting companions of the "Brachèria de Sosèt" hare-trapping team of Sopraponte, while he was heading at the position assigned to him by the "Canettiere" foreman, after having traveled the first forty meters of a path, he met among the stones of the path itself, a brood of puppies, weeping, hungry and cold, naturally abandoned by a human hand that had wanted to get rid of it. The cries of the newborns who were struggling among the hardships of abandonment, hunger and cold, (they were probably abandoned the previous night or a few hours before dawn), made the hearts of hunters who still have an ethic snap. Immediately the solidarity of the whole team was mobilized in a series of phone calls: to their veterinarian, to their non-hunting friends and relatives, who hurried to the place and retrieved the small puppies.
After about an hour Giuseppe, still following faint moans, recovered two other puppies by now thrown into a nearby canal, of which unfortunately only one of them was still alive. Shortly after the Prandaglio hounds team joined the Sopraponte hounds team, already speculating how and where to adopt newborns.
The attentions of his friend Roberto Filippini, the loving care of Carla Borra, and of Giuseppe's wife Betti, did the rest in definitively saving the five surviving puppies who still found the right placement in the early afternoon at the voluntary association of the “Laica” animals by Erbusco.
Of course, you know, hunters go hunting in an attempt to kill a wild prey which, however, is also an animal. But they have an ethic, which all hunters strictly respect, precisely because they are "real" hunters and not "something else". Yes, it is to face the ancestral challenge between them and the wild, however giving the wild the possibility of being able to defend itself with its natural tricks and in any case never make it suffer in the bloody instant of killing.
But they also have a heart, the one that does not allow them to accept the fact that good people, almost certainly not hunters, let them die slowly slowly amid atrocious sufferings such as those of hunger and cold, of pets, leaving them alive without defenses and with no chance of escape.
