Precisely because the lover of hunting can accompany his family, who throughout the day will be engaged in numerous adventurous excursions to discover the local architectural surprises but above all the evocative naturalistic views.
To organize your hunting experience on the Gargano, you can ask for the help of hunting associations and organizations that will normally take care of providing accommodation, not far from the areas where hunting trips, packed lunches and dinners, and above all they will think about the details of the hunting day. The knowledge of the territory is also fundamental, given that the species to which you can hunt are really numerous: you will go from thrushes, blackbirds and cesene to wood pigeons, from woodcock to wild boar, from quail and larks in the Puglia board, up to the aquatic in the barrels of the lake of Lesina, to conclude with the pheasants and partridges of the ZAC area of the Nardini Park.
The best time to hunt thrushes on the Gargano starts from November until the beginning of January. The ideal hunting areas for the technique of passage, spollo, trolling and return are close to the sea, immersed in a beautiful Mediterranean vegetation made of hawthorn, myrtle, strawberry tree, laurel and olive groves.
The month of November, temperate and mild, is also ideal for hunting woodcocks, which find excellent hospitality in the forests and wooded areas of the Gargano.
If, on the other hand, you want to hunt larks, the best time is the one that goes from mid-October to mid-November. The hunt can be conducted according to the technique of temporary stalking or sketch. The best areas are the stubble and the sown fields of the wide and fascinating plains of the Tavoliere. Wood pigeon hunting is also particularly practiced on the Gargano and attracts Apulian and Italian hunters in general. The extension of the territory is 70 hectares and the offer of huntable species is really wide: we can talk about quail, pheasants and partridges. For your pleasure, less than 15 km from the park there is a wonderful Olympic shooting pit.
