The Provincial Council of Cagliari unanimously approved the agenda on the hunting situation in Sardinia presented by the leader of the Sardinian Reformers, Ricciotti Usai.
Before being approved, the document acknowledged the amendments concerning the dispositive part from the group leaders' conference; moreover, according to the president of the council assembly, Roberto Pili, it "commits the vice president and the provincial government to implement all possible initiatives towards the Autonomous Region of Sardinia so that a regional law is drawn up that takes into account the reality and of the Sardinian hunting tradition ".
We therefore hope for a law that is “defined with the widest involvement, also in the light of hunting activity supported by studies focused on the environmental peculiarity of Sardinia, useful to define an environmentally sustainable hunting collection ".
The document also provides, in the final part of the device, that qIf the commitments foreseen by the hunting calendar are not respected, “necessary and adequate compensation must be considered that recreate a climate of trust between the administration and the Sardinian hunting world ".
Usai then explains, pointing out that the Sardinian hunting calendar is the most restrictive among the Italian ones in view of the recent additional limitations such as the early closure of the species of thrush, blackbird, woodcock and snipe, which "according to the 48.000 hunters who have renewed the firearms license for a hunting season scheduled until 31 January 2012, any reduction of this term violates the citizen's right, acquired through a payment established by law".
