There is still a storm on the question of hunting in Piedmont after the withdrawal of the amendment that required the repeal of the regional hunting law.
The parties hope to be able to avoid the excessive cost of a referendum on hunting in a period of world crisis with a dialogue between the parties that can adapt the hunting law to everyone's needs.
On the issue and the controversies raised in the past days, the President of the Hunting and Fishing Commission of the Piedmont Region, Gian Luca Vignale, states "Convoking the referendum, as all anti-hunting associations are asking these days, has a cost, more than 25 million euros, which the Piedmontese cannot afford after 25 years of collecting signatures and in a moment of great difficulty like the present one. For this reason, after the withdrawal of the amendment to repeal the regional law on hunting, it is necessary to work to vote on a text capable of overcoming the referendum questions and aligning the Piedmontese legislation with that of other Italian regions ”.
Vignale continues, "It will therefore now be the task of the Hunting and Fishing Commission convened next Wednesday both in the morning and in the afternoon, to vote in the drafting stage (ie the Commission votes individual articles while the Advising room approves only the final text) law deposited on hunting ".
Finally Vignale concludes, "As the drafter and first signatory of the pdl n.104, which in fact updates the management of the Piedmontese hunting activity, it is necessary that Piedmont finally adopt a law that makes hunting not only a controlled activity , but a source of promotion of the territory and of income, as well as a tool capable of reducing damage in agriculture ".
