Hunting: the Province of Siena has approved the Hunting Calendar valid for the 2013-2014 Hunting Season in the provincial territory.
The Provincial Government of Siena has approved the rules on the 2013-2014 Hunting Calendar. The general layout has undergone some changes dictated by the Regional Hunting Calendar in relation to the hunting times of some species and the related game boxes. Here's what the Hunting calendar 2013-2014 for the province of Siena:
Hunting of the common hare species is allowed from 15 September to 8 December 2013;
From 15 September to 31 October 2013 hunting of fighting species is allowed, with a seasonal game bag limit of 10 animals per hunter;
From 2 October to 30 December 2013 hunting is allowed for the lark species, with a seasonal game bag limit of 50 head per hunter;
From 2 October 2013 to 20 January 2014 hunting is allowed for the woodcock species with a seasonal game bag limit of 20 head per hunter;
From 2 October 2013 to 30 January 2014, hunting is allowed for the following species: cesena and redwing;
From 1 November 2013 to 30 January 2014 hunting is allowed for the moretta species with a seasonal game bag limit of 20 head per hunter;
From 15 September 2013 to 30 January 2014 the following species are allowed to hunt: song thrush, teal, snipe, gadwall, pintail, wood pigeon, hooded crow, wigeon, coot, whisk, moorhen, magpie, mallard, jay, garganey, shoveler, pochard, lapwing, water rail. For codon and lapwing the seasonal game bag limit is 25 animals per species and per hunter.
From 15 September 2013 to 30 December 2013, hunting is allowed for the following species: wild rabbit, quail, blackbird, turtle dove. For quail and turtledove, the seasonal game bag limit is 25 animals per species and per hunter. Pheasant hunting in the territory on scheduled hunting is allowed from 15 September 2013 to 30 December 2013; in the AFV, Wildlife Hunting Companies and in the AAV, Farm Hunting Farms, it is allowed until January 30, 2014 according to the specific sampling plans. Red partridge and gray partridge hunting is prohibited throughout the provincial territory on scheduled hunts and in AFVs.
Stray hunting and use of the dog. In the period from 1 to 30 January 2014, hunting is allowed throughout the provincial territory exclusively from a fixed or temporary position, which must be accessed with the unloaded, disassembled or custody shotgun. In the same period, the hunting with the use of the dog is allowed, only to the fox, according to the specifications below. In the period from 1 to 20 January 2014, wandering hunting for woodcock is allowed, with the use of the dog only when pointing and hunting, within wooded areas (as defined by art.3 of LR 39/2000) falling within the area suitable for wild boar with the exclusion of areas falling within the SPAs. For safety purposes, those who hunt woodcock will need to wear high visibility clothing during this period. During the periods in which hunting from stalking is allowed, for the purpose of retrieving the game, the use of dogs with particular aptitudes for retrieving is allowed, under the direct control of the owner or handler, within a radius of 150 meters from the stalking. same, but with the obligation to always remain at a distance of not less than 50 meters from other stalks from which the hunting activity is carried out at the same time.
Fox hunting in the territory on scheduled hunting is allowed from 15 September 2013 to 30 December 2013 even with the use of a follow-up dog. In the period from 1 to 30 January 2014 throughout the provincial territory, fox hunting is allowed only in the traditional hunt form with the use of the dog, with a minimum of 8 participants, subject to communication to the Province of the constitution. of the team and the designation of the person in charge of the same and in compliance with the indications issued for this purpose by the ATCs. In AFV, fox hunting is allowed from 15 September 2013 to 30 January 2014.
Selection hunting. It should be remembered that for the roe deer the young can be hunted from 1 January to 15 March 2014, the young and adult males from 15 June to 15 July and from 15 August to 30 September; young and adult females can be hunted from January 1st to March 15th. As for the fallow deer, hunting is open from January 1st to March 15th for females and chicks; from 1st to 30th September and from 2nd November to 15th March for the fusone; from 2 November to 15 March for the balestrone and palancone. Deer hunting is open from 2 October to 15 February for the M3 and M4 male, from 2 October to 15 March for the M2 male, from 1 August to 15 September and from 2 October to 15 March for the spindle male; from 1 January to 15 March 2014 for all females and young.
The Province of Siena has requested the Tuscany Region to apply the derogation for the hunting of the starling, to limit the damage to agricultural crops caused by this species. It also requested a pre-opening day for 1 September 2013 to the species: turtledove, wood pigeon, blackbird, magpie, jay, hooded crow and starling. Please note that if the Tuscany Region authorizes the pre-opening, the hunt for the species in question must end one day earlier than the indicated times. The times and methods of the wild boar hunt remain to be defined and will be discussed at the next consultation table set for Wednesday 28 August.
Please note that on the provision of the Tuscany Region The use of lead shot ammunition is prohibited in all wetlands of the regional territory, such as natural and artificial lakes, ponds, swamps, permanent marshes, oxbow lakes and fresh, salt and brackish water lagoons.
