The Provincial Council of Trento approves the bill that allows hunters to be able to train their dogs in special areas together with expert instructors.
The bill 250 proposed by the councilors Claudio Eccher, Nerio Giovanazzi and Marco Sembenotti was approved by the Provincial Council of Trento, with which the identification of suitable areas in the Trentino area for the training and training of hunting dogs is envisaged. with shot as well as the possibility for hunters to be accompanied by expert guides from South Tyrol, passing exceptionally through the forest roads. For an exchange program the same possibilities can also be enjoyed by expert Trentino escorts in the province of Bolzano.
The main reasons for the bill according to Eccher concern the possible mutual enrichment with Bolzano thanks to the experts; the possibility of reserving certain areas of the provincial territory that are not valuable from the faunal point of view and where hunting would only involve farm animals and not wild animals for the training and training of shooting dogs; the purpose of the initiative is also to avoid hunters having to go outside the province to train their dogs.
Concluding, Eccher explained, “In this way, a mutual enrichment will be realized, useful for improving the hunting activity in the two provinces and for the selection hunt favored by the expert guides who will help to identify the animals to be killed”.
For Nerio Giovanazzi, the new legislation would not strengthen hunting but, on the contrary, would decrease the hunting pressure in the areas of the territory where the sedentary fauna insists, this is because the hunters would go to frequent new areas populated by farm animals and in which they could find the birth of agritourism-type economic activities.
On the contrary, the councilor Roberto Bombarda dei Verdi expressed the opposite opinion as with the exceptions provided for by the legislation in question it will be possible to shoot every month of the year, also asking that the identification of areas for training dogs with gunshot are far from countries , protected natural areas and waterways.
Councilor Michele Nardelli also expressed his opposition to the bill as he explained his opinion on the matter "Mine is negative because dog training involves the sacrifice of animals, in homage to an anthropocentric concept that I do not agree with. ".
The promoter of the Eccher legislation replied appreciating that the majority understood the spirit of this new law and reassured that the training areas for dogs will not cause any disturbance to the game.
