THETerritorial hunting area of Benevento and the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Production of the“Federico II” University of Naples have signed an agreement for an epidemiological study concerning i hunting dogs. This is a very important research and can ascertain and prevent diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, ticks and fleas, pathologies that can in some cases be transmitted to man.
Among the main examples to mention are borreliosis and anaplasmosis, rather dangerous due to the fact that the infection occurs in a moment, while the symptoms manifest themselves after months or even years. As pointed out by the promoters of the study, the dogs will undergo these important tests, which will be completely free for hunters in the province of Benevento.
The Samnite ATC, to be precise its management committee, took charge in this case of an expense equal to 30 thousand euros. The implementation of the project is not yet known, but it will be there a meeting to define every aspect. The number one in the Benevento area, Gianluca Aceto, wants to focus on hunting respectful of laws, environment and fauna.
