Savona hunters. The commendable proposal for the Ecological Day of 20 June 2010 is promoted by the Ass. Provincial Livio Bracco.
Not only an ecological day to clean up our woods, but also an opportunity to re-evaluate a “discussed” figure like that of hunters. This is the opinion of the provincial councilor Livio Bracco who, on the sidelines of the presentation of the "green" day - which, on June 20, will see numerous volunteers engaged in the wooded areas of Varazzino - "betrays" in his words a polemic vein towards environmentalists and animal rights activists, "guilty" of describing hunting enthusiasts as bad ogres.
“Not only environmentalists and animal rights activists, but also hunters play an important role in safeguarding the woods - declares Bracco -. Hunters often put out fires, take care of the cleaning of wooded areas and, in general, are committed to enhancing our territory. That the ENPA or other environmental associations describe them in the media simply as 'merciless people who kill Bambi' is not correct. I want to remind you that roe and fallow deer are responsible for numerous damage to crops and, in general, to the territory, as well as lathes, which are harmful to olives and agricultural activity. I want to rehabilitate this too often 'demonized' figure and say that hunters are important for the protection of our forests and luckily there are ".
