La Provincial Police of Modena organized a meeting in Spilimberto to talk about the new rules introduced by the Emilia Romagna region about the control of nutria and pigeons. The appointment also concerns the Territorial Areas of Hunting and is an integral part of a calendar of similar meetings, to be held throughout the province. Particularly, it is necessary to update and inform the coadjutors about the new legislation, but not only these.
There is also a discussion on the wildlife control activities, implemented together with beyond 1500 coadjutors active in the Modena area. Carpi and Medolla have already hosted identical meetings and the participation of numerous coadjutors was recorded. The next steps will be those of Modena, Nonantola, Sassuolo and Pavullo. The aim is to put a stop to the proliferation of otters and protect the levees.
Last year, more than 10 thousand specimens were killed: convection involves 21 municipalities of the plain, as well as land reclamation consortia, agricultural associations, ATC and AIPO (Interregional Agency for the Po River). About 500 licensed hunters were involved, who must respect the plans indicated by individual municipalities. Other levels where the hunting world is fundamental are those for the control of wild boars, starlings and corvids.
