Heavy fines
In the last few hours the Liguria Region has decided to introduce heavy fines for anyone who feeds wildlife, starting from wild boars. The measure is aimed at combating the proliferation of animals, so much so that the financial penalties are of different amounts. They range from a minimum of 500 to a maximum of 2 thousand euros. What does the news involve in detail?
Foraging in urban areas
First of all, it must be specified that the rule is contained in the document linked to the Stability Law. It is nothing more than a specific ban on foraging in urban areas which changes the regional law for the protection of homeothermic fauna and for hunting. As already mentioned, wild boars are the main suspects, but not the only ones.
The list of species included
In Liguria, citizens will not be able to feed those species of wild fauna that are considered dangerous, both for public safety and for actual health. The list in question includes specimens of various types, namely wolves, foxes, deer, porcupines and fallow deer just to give a few examples. Will these fines be enough as a deterrent? The Region believes it, now the facts are awaited.
