I damage to agricultural crops, also those caused by birdlife, are a problem common to all Italian regions. L'Territorial Hunting Area of Naples has decided to experiment with a new and innovative system as regards the ecological fight against these animals: it is the Falkoon project, which involves the use of bollards depicting a peregrine falcon, a bird capable of warding off other harmful birds.
In hunting period closed precisely this kind of methods must be devised and the president of the ATC, Sergio Sorrentino, commented on the initiative, explaining how the Campania area is interested both in the enhancement of regional agricultural production and in wildlife. Agriculture is important and strategic for the territories of Campania and to protect it there is a need for the concrete and effective participation of all institutions.
Sorrentino judged the bollard experience as part of an environmental culture to be pursued with conviction. The Falkoons take off and send the birds away from the cultivated land: the project has been curated by a series of ornithologists to defend farmers and not harm the life of poultry species.
