Hunting No Limits: LIPU BirdLife's appeal to all hunters and the government
The LIPU BirdLife Italia association launches an appeal to all hunters and to the government, to make a summary of the species that can be hunted in our territory. In fact, there are many huntable species that are in a poor state of conservation, among the 18 species they stand out woodcock, quail e lark.
For this reason, the Hunting No Limits rule has been activated, which concerns itself with the killing of species killed out of season. A request that arrives precisely regarding the approval of article 38 of the community law, which cancels for all huntable species, except for some mammals, the limits set by the current law or the period from 1 September to 31 January.
Many of these species are currently in a poor state of conservation, such as the Woodcock which breeds in the Nordic countries. What about the Quail which is in decline due to the destruction of the natural habitat and other species of ducks such as the Codon which are still hunted in the period of preputial migration.
The LIPU BirdLife association requires the activation of protection measures for the benefit of these species, improving the conservation of the natural environments in which they live. In addition, an absolute ban on hunting during breeding and migration is required. A situation that got out of hand or little considered?
