Hunting ban
The Honorable Barbara Mazzali , regional councilor for Lombardy (Brothers of Italy), expressed her opinion via social media regarding the hunting ban following a forest fire. The FdI representative's perspective was, as usual, spot-on.
The thought of Mr Mazzali
This is how ideology and shortsightedness can destroy our lands. If you recall, in June a Constitutional Court ruling declared the law that extended the hunting ban in fire-stricken areas from 10 to 3 years unlawful. Now, the Regional Administrative Court (TAR), which had been approached by the usual animal rights groups, has also condemned the ban. ENPA, LAV, LIPU, and WWF are rejoicing over what they believe to be a victory, but which is actually yet another act of damage to the land in the name of a blind and deaf ideology.
The role of hunters
Hunters are the sentinels of our forests, our mountains, and our plains. They ensure that biodiversity is maintained, that areas are well-preserved and clean, and that the balance between species is protected and enhanced. Imagine what a territory will be like after 10 years of a hunting ban. I can't even think about it. They think they're attacking our species, but instead they're destroying nature.
