A long judicial matter seven years ended with the conviction of a hunter. It all started in 2011 when a man had a male chamois was killed by mistake in a forest of Verbano. The hunter was in possession of a regular hunting license and was wrong to take the ungulate, since according to the hunting calendar at that time he could shoot only to females.
The accused immediately noticed the mistake, going so far as to report himself and pay the related fine. The downed head had been taken to a slaughterhouse and then sold at auction, money subsequently paid to the Piedmont Region. The process began when the man requested the return of the chamois, remembering the sanction honored. In 2013 and 2015 he was wrong and so it was with the final sentence of the Supreme Court.
The request was rejected, despite the hunter having pointed out on more than one occasion how the confiscation was unlawful. The killing was in fact illegal and this prevented the property of the head from going to a person responsible for a transgression. Now there will be another amount of money to pay, ie the unified contribution introduced by the Stability Law and equal to the amount spent for the appeal.
