The president of Monviso Park, Gianfranco Marengo, sent a letter to all the mayors of the area to inform that a draft of a plan for the containment of wild boars for the areas of expertise of the institution, for the next five years. Aware of the seriousness of the problem, the Park turns to the Municipalities asking for collaboration, through the timely reporting of damage suffered in the territories of competence and also providing a numerical estimate of the presence of ungulates. All this to "elaborate a plan of technical interventions for the containment of the species, which is proving to be harmful from all points of view".
Once processed, the plan for the containment of wild boars it will be adopted by the board of the body and then sent to the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (Ispra) to obtain a positive opinion. The text will then be delivered to the regional council for final approval. In the communication, President Marengo underlines how "the issue needs to be addressed at both regional and state legislative levels, in order to simplify the plans to tackle this problem ”.
