Poaching: Palermo, a poacher was caught by the Forestry while hunting wild rabbits in the Monte Pellegrino nature reserve.
The men of the Regional Forestry Corps of the Palermo Falde detachment, led by Commissioner Lia Pirrello, during the control of the territory aimed at combating the phenomenon of poaching, surprised a man while hunting wild rabbits in Pizzo Rufuliata, area A of the Monte Pellegrino regional nature reserve. The man, in hunting clothing, was returning to his car at about 13.30pm, when he Forestry agents of the Palermo Falde detachment, they stopped it and subjected it to control; inside the poacher's car a backpack was found containing the two downed rabbits, a rifle with relative ammunition and four hunting dogs.
During the check, it emerged that the man was in possession of an expired firearms license, therefore he was reported on the loose both for hunting in a protected area and for violating the legislation on firearms.
