Poaching: Ragusa, the Provincial Police surprised a man while he was catching wild rabbits with illegal traps in the countryside of the Municipality of Vittoria.
During the constant surveillance of the territories for the prevention and repression of illegal hunting, the agents of the Ragusa Provincial Police have recently denounced a 73-year-old man from Vittoria, for attempted hunting theft and poaching. The agents found within the 73-year-old's land, located in the "Fondo Monaci" district in the territory of the Municipality of Vittoria, fourteen cages, built in wood and wire mesh, as well as five PVC pipes with a diameter of 40 cm , all with fruit-based bait, placed at various points in the ground to trap wild rabbits.
The Provincial Police then reported the elderly poacher to the AG to answer for the crimes identified; moreover, to avoid suffering to any wild rabbits captured, the traps and pipes were immediately seized and placed at the disposal of the AG for any further investigations.
