Poaching: Udine, a man was surprised while he was recovering a Roe deer caught with a snare trap in the Comeglians area.
An anti-poaching operation was recently carried out by the Provincial Police and the Regional Forestry Corps - Forestry Station of Forni Avoltri, in the municipality of Comeglians. The joint action, consisting of stalking, monitoring and inspections, led to the capture of a poacher in the act of crime while taking possession of a dead male roe deer, captured with a snare. Subsequently, the operators intervened proceeded to carry out a search in the home of the person controlled in order to find further elements for the reconstruction of the facts. During the check, the agents found tools for making laces and, near the house, five metal laces ready for operation as well as a snap trap for catching wildlife.
The latter material was placed under administrative seizure. During the search, a compressed air rifle was also found, also placed under seizure in order to verify its regularity. The crimes referred to in art. 30, paragraph 1, lett. a) and h) of Law no. 157/1992 (Rules for the protection of homeothermic wildlife and for hunting), for having practiced hunting in a period of general prohibition and for having captured roe deer by prohibited means.
The Comeglians operation is the latest in a series of activities undertaken jointly between the Regional Forestry and the Provincial Police which have led to important results in the prevention and repression of offenses, especially in the field of hunting.
