Last week the Provincial Police of Viterbo carried out two operations aimed at countering the phenomenon of poaching in the province.
During the two anti-poaching operations carried out in the Viterbo area, six hunters were reported in a state of freedom and four rifles and six wild boars were seized.
In the Blera area, the Provincial Police men caught a man red-handed who had just caught a wild boar in the middle of a hunting farm.
The poacher was denounced on the loose to answer for the crime of hunting and detention of non-huntable species given that according to the hunting calendar the start of the season for the wild boar hunting is scheduled for next November 2nd.
In the Montefiascone area, on the other hand, the Provincial Police, following a report, has caught five poachers while they were working five freshly culled boars; the five poachers were reported on the loose for hunting and detention of non-huntable species. On the same occasion, three rifles and five wild boars were seized.
Immediate comment by the President of the Province, Marcello Meroi, ”The precious work of the men of the provincial police, authentic sentinels of our territory, continues with great efficiency and attention. It is thanks to their commitment that we are able to defend some of the faunal riches that characterize our province from the reckless work of hunters and poachers ”.
The trail of reports concerning the phenomenon continues poaching in our country. The certainty of those who have a passion for hunting and who love nature is undoubtedly the fact that the real Italian hunter is never an accomplice to these criminals, but on the contrary he repels them and collaborates in the fight against poaching in all its forms.
