Very little is missing from the international conference to be held in Primiero San Martino di Castrozza (in the province of Trento) and which will have the title “Knowing to better manage: research, conservation and management of Grouse in Europe". The event will take place within the Oratory Theater of Pieve and it will last two days. The first day, that of Wednesday 26 October 2016, will begin with the registration of the participants: the initial talk is scheduled at 9:40 with Ilse Storch of the University of Friborg who will deal with "The capercaillie in Central Europe: situation and knowledge".
We will then continue with the work focused on the history and conservation of grouse in France edited by Emmanuel Menoni of the National Office of Hunting and Wildlife, followed by Pierre Mollet (Swiss Ornithological Institute), who will deepen the situation of the animal in Switzerland. Hubert Zeiler will illustrate the cases of the capercaillie in Austria, while Joy Coppes the German ones.
The first day will be concluded by three researches: all the analyzes will concern the results of the project in Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Natural Park (the largest group of the Dolomites). Finally, Thursday 27 October will be marked by four very interesting hours dedicated to the importance of the habitat for the capercaillie.
