Il Duke of Cambridge, Prince William of England, came back to talk about hunters and hunters at an event that took place this week in London. Queen Elizabeth's grandson chatted with the president of the African republic Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi, and the two delved into the question of hunting trophies. According to William, it must be supported the return of elephant selection hunting in this country of the "black continent".
Masisi believes that the levy in question favors the conservation of endangered species and the Duke approved this reasoning. The two met privately during a conference on the illegal wildlife trade. There are too many elephants in Botswana and the damage they can cause to people and crops is enormous.
Some activists protested against Masisi, complaining the lack of sensitivity and the impossibility of justifying the killing with these reasons. William addressed the problem in his speech which opened the London conference and highlighted his fear of the extinction of elephants, tigers and rhinos, a scenario that could become real and concrete when his children are in their twenties.
