«Where there is no environment, clean, well-kept there is no hunting. The hunter was the presence that in most of the Italian territories made access to man possible; they have mitigated and made accessible entire areas of our country. We must start from this principle; also remember that hunting is fundamental for the balance of species and fight our battle on scientific data, do not improvise ». This is the first comment of Barbara Mazzali, regional councilor of the Lombardia (FdI), after the presentation in the Official Gazette of 11 February 2021, of the collection of signatures for the abolition of hunting (law 157/92).
«Ours is a world that is much more environmentalist than environmentalists and more animal-friendly than animalists - underlined Mazzali -; unfortunately we have not been able to communicate it and now we have to make this step forward. Also we have to unite in a single law firm, which can see our passion and tradition protected, with deeds and not with posts and letters ». For Mazzali, who for years has been fighting for the rights of hunters and for the protection of hunting, the time has come to face this battle in a united way: «Let us also keep all our identities - he recalled -; but let us join in what are the battles that must see us united in ideas and communication.
Ours is a world under attack that sees many animal rights groups united ». And while there are those who have the time to collect signatures to close the hunt, there are the Italian farmers and breeders who every day have to count the damage from ungulates and wild animals - wild boar, roe deer, fallow deer, wolves that rage in the countryside, destroying crops, crops, vineyards, assaulting flocks and farms, and also creating concrete problems for ordinary citizens, with road accidents and forays into cities (Agricultura.it).
