Roe deer hunting - Atc 13 Massa Carrara: Spring censuses of roe deer starting from 20 March in the territories of the Atc 13 of Massa Carrara. 50 new hunters enabled in the next hunting season.
Withdrawals 2010 below expectations: plan achieved at 66% in the 4 districts. The Committee calls for the activation of sanctions for hunters who have committed offenses. The Committee: “Whoever does the smart will be sanctioned. Educational controls, and not punitive ".
More scrutiny and more accountability on the part of enabled hunters in the upcoming season roe deer hunting in the Province of Massa Carrara. The preparatory phase for one of the hunting seasons most loved by hunters is approaching, that of roe deer, with the official communication by the Management Committee of the Territorial Area 13 of the Province of Massa Carrara (info on www.atcms.13.it, days dedicated to censuses which will lead, at the opening of the official calendar, to the assignment of the animals to be slaughtered in the 4 planned districts.
First among the compulsory censuses scheduled by the Commission for roe deer, those on sight scheduled for Sunday 20 March from 16 pm and Sunday 27 March, while the target censuses were scheduled for 3 April and 17 April; the recovery days for authorized hunters who failed, for personal reasons, to take part in these censuses, set instead for Saturday 2 and 30 April.
Meanwhile, the data of the killing carried out in the 2010 hunting season are official: 270 animals with an average achievement of the collection targets, in the 4 districts (172 hunters who participated in the hunts out of a total of 256 members), of approximately 66%. A figure below the expectations of the Management Committee which had set the number of items to be taken at 458.
Hence the need to review, as underlined in the last meeting of the Committee, the sampling plan for 2011 and the overall management of the season with the request to the Province of Massa Carrara to activate the sanctions provided for hunters who have committed infringements as in the case of culling error - culling a male for a female, or an adult for a young.
The penalties are very heavy with the suspension from 1 to 3 years from hunting. In fact, the data of the collection plan showed non-homogeneous culls with districts far from the percentage of assigned animals. “We expect - explains the Committee - greater responsibility in the next season on the part of qualified hunters together with transparency and seriousness.
In the next hunting season the controls will be more stringent - announces the Atc 13 - and in case of infringements or deficiencies, such as the failure to return the booklet or the band, we will proceed with the subtraction of the scores. We demand respect for the basic rules and a determined assumption of responsibilities on the part of our hunters. Whoever does the smart will be sanctioned ”.
To make the controls capillary and methodical, which "I do not want to be punitive - explains the Atc 13 - but educational in respect of hunters who respect the rules and follow the procedures correctly - we will ask for the help of voluntary guards to detect infringements or behaviors incorrect, but also to watch over the 50 new roe deer hunters who will participate in their first hunt next hunting season.
And who have obtained the qualification through the courses organized by the ATC ". The other news is the confirmation of the 2011 quota which will remain unchanged compared to the previous year. A retouch "only ventilated" by the Atc 13 which is going in the direction, in common agreement with the hunting associations, not to adjust the altitude. "For this year - concludes the Committee - the quota will remain the same".
