Five months: this is the time horizon that Sig sauer has given itself for the definitive closure of its headquarters in Eckernförde. The city is located in the northern part of Germany and is the headquarters of the famous gun company. The establishment exists since 1951, therefore almost seven decades, yet Bild has revealed this drastic and sudden decision.
The brand is owned by a holding company, THE, even if for the moment there are no clear and precise explanations regarding the closure we are talking about. One could think of the crisis in the sector magnified by the coronavirus-related pandemic, in addition to the difficulties encountered during the participation in the various contracts.
A division that has no problems, however, is that of Sig Sauer which is located in the United States, to be precise, the plants in New Hampshire, Oregon and Arkansas. More will be known in the coming months.
