The Centro Carni district of the Mugello and the Mugello supply chain is growing thanks to the birth of that on game which closed with the inauguration, in the presence of the Councilor for Agriculture of the Tuscany Region Stephanie Saccardi, of the president of the Montana Union of Municipalities of Mugello Stefano Passiatore and the mayors of the territory, of the hunted game rest facility. The project, strongly supported also by the Tuscany Region and by the Hunter Associations, was carried out byMountain Union of Municipalities of Mugello based on an agreement signed in 2015 with the Metropolitan City of Florence and Atc Firenze-Prato. The cost of the intervention, for approx 170mila euros, saw the financial sharing of Atc, Metropolitan City and Union.
What has been achieved now allows hunters to deliver game, essentially ungulates such as wild boar, fallow deer, roe deer, etc., in this rest center regardless of the opening hours of the Meat Center having available a separate entrance from the main plant. Here the hunters will take care of the preliminary operations on the animals, leaving them in a protected and refrigerated environment at the disposal of the veterinarian of theHealthcare company which will verify its suitability for processing by the Caf, which manages the Carni Mugello center, and for marketing according to the regulations in force. With this inauguration, a strong push was given to an important one game meat supply chain in Mugello safe from a health point of view and traceable according to EU regulations.
A supply chain that will allow further growth of the Centro Carni del Mugello, which is a candidate for a prominent place in this sector that sees very few representatives on the national territory. "We have inaugurated a fundamental plant to offer guarantees regarding the slaughter of game meat - said the vice president and councilor for agriculture of the Tuscany Region. Stephanie Saccardi -, animals on which a strong control action must be exercised to safeguard both agriculture and safety on our roads, but all this had to be linked to a path of recovery, control and circulation in a transparent way of meats that were absolutely controlled.
Thanks to the Health Authority, the ATC, the Provincial Police who support us in the control of wild animals, I think this structure can serve them too. This area absolutely needed this structure, it was there and it was ready, we had promised ourselves to open it before the end of the year and we did. I hope it can be a piece that perhaps also feeds the region's virtuous projects, we made a resolution to donate meat of this type and we made donations to the Food Bank.
Thanks to all those who have allowed the plant to become a reality, a place that I firmly believe can give an important boost to improved control, of the overall management of the meat of slaughtered animals because of this we need: that everything takes place with maximum transparency, safety for consumers, feeding a virtuous marketing chain and use of wild animal meats which are of high quality "(The nation).
