La Regional Council of Emilia Romagna has just approved the new hunting calendar, the one relating to 2017-2018 season. This is the umpteenth Italian region that knows in detail how the hunt will take place over the next few months: the same Region has decided to recall the note from the Ministry of the Environment on the new ISPRA positions on pre-nuptial migration and the turdidae hunting.
Examining the various dates, it should be remembered first of all as the turtledove it can be hunted in pre-opening starting from 2 September and until the end of the month. The withdrawal of the blackbird in pre-opening, however, it will run from 2 September to 18 December. The period from September 17 to October 30 was chosen for partridges and red partridges, while for pheasants, common hares and wild rabbits the beginning will be the same but not the end (December 3). The pre-opening withdrawal of crows, magpies and jays it will take place from 2 September to 30 October and will then resume from 13 November to 31 January.
For all the aquatic pigeons and the wood pigeon the time period will always be the same, that is to say from 17 September to 31 January 2018. Some important clarifications must be made for the woodcock, whose hunt will be allowed from 1 October to 20 January: on the contrary, from 1 October to 3 December the collection will concern roaming hunting with the use of no more than two pointing dogs. Finally, it should not be forgotten that the wild boar hunting it will start on October 1st and end on January 31st.
