The session of the Commission was held yesterday, Wednesday 29 March 2017, for the discussion of the draft of the 2017-2018 hunting calendar of Emilia Romagna. The Lega North decided to express a contrary opinion and the councilor Massimiliano Pompignoli explained what happened. The technical contents did not satisfy the party and therefore it was asked to reformulate the text in many parts. In particular, they don't like the ban on the use of mobile phones in the exercise of hunting, a rule that has caused a lot of discussion in recent months.
In addition, the League criticized the periods and forms of hunting some species. For woodcocks, cesene and song thrushes an extension was requested as regards the closed until January 31st; for the wood pigeoninstead, pre-opening would be needed. Pompignoli himself is convinced that these situations are the cause of the decline in hunters from Emilia and Romagna, since their freedom would be continually limited.
The councilor finally took it out on the informal meetings that preceded the drafting of the calendar: the League was not invited, as well as several hunting associations, to the point of even talking about “carbonare meetings”.
