Fernanda Cecchini, Councilor for Agriculture of the Umbria Region, has summoned in the last few hours the Hunting Faunal Council. We talked about the Wildlife Plan to be adopted and discussions on the hunting calendar relating to the 2019-2020 season. Here is what Cecchini herself said about it: “The hunting wildlife plan 2019-2023 in a few months it will lead us to have a new and updated reference point to coordinate and harmonize all the interventions of management and planning which concern the wildlife present on the regional territory.
The approval process that is about to end - he added - began in 2015, engaging in a process of reorganizing the functions returned to the Region after the reform of the provinces. It therefore entailed the need for a re-evaluation, with a complex work that took into account the two provincial wildlife plans, bringing them to synthesis and merging into a single Plan, with the priority objectives of fauna protection and management both of naturalistic and hunting interest ". The contents of the previous plan have been confirmed, in particular the most valid and effective ones, without forgetting the updating of some legislative changes.
The Territorial Areas of Hunting will be more involved, enhancing the promotion of correct hunting practice. Another detail deserves to be investigated: "Some additional chapters have also been added to the Plan. They concern training and updating, since we strongly feel the need to disseminate a more in-depth knowledge of the technical-scientific foundations that are the basis of modern wildlife-hunting management, since trained and motivated hunters can be decisive for the achievement of the objectives of the law, the game supply chain, guidelines for the control of critical wildlife and also guidelines for the elaboration of hunting calendars ".
