With a note sent to the Umbria Region, Hunting Federation regional calls for a suspension of the procedures in order to address the issues with greater depth and comparison with all stakeholders. Federcaccia also points out that from an initial examination strong critical issues arose; in particular we believe that the Plans pursue above all an idea of parco which territory to protect and not to CONSERVE and to ENHANCE. A static position derives from this, which neither contemplates nor prefigures an active management approach, an approach that provides for actions aimed at the conservation of the current level of biodiversity, for example through actions on all those phenomena that could alter the optimal state of flora and fauna, as well as preparing projects aimed at recovering and enhancing fauna and the environment.
From this follows a general lack of management and an absence of objective data, which takes on particular value when addressing the problem of the management of ungulates in general and, in particular, of wild boar: there are no estimates on the presence of suide, geo-referenced data of damage, etc. All shortcomings that do not allow, in our opinion, a correct approach to the various problems, lending the side to partisan interpretations and common places. All parks are required to review the criteria for tracing boundaries, which cannot be a slavish application of the boundaries of cadastral parcels.
Instead, they will have to be sanctioned linear, physical, natural orographic boundaries, easily identifiable, in order to avoid creating confusion by misleading the citizen. Regarding the management plan of the “Stina”, considering that in the administrative documents there is no mention of a “park” but of territorial system of naturalistic interest, it is absolutely unacceptable that in subsequent technical documents the area is identified as a “park”. Therefore the contradiction must be clarified and eliminated, including the establishment of contiguous areas.
