With a joint statement, Federcaccia Sicilia, ANUUMigratoristi and Enalcaccia released their considerations regarding the session of the TAR yesterday, July 19. This is the text:
As already reported on 07 July, our lawyers Accursio Gagliano and Accursio Augello represented the undersigned Associations before the III Section of the TAR Palermo. Together with the lawyers of the Rubino law firm and the lawyer Alfio Barbagallo, each in their respective interventions ad opposendum, highlighted the limits of the requests proposed by environmental associations. The defense of our lawyers, with the defensive briefs presented, tends to reiterate that the 2022/23 Hunting Calendar was formulated in compliance with Law No. 157/92 and Regional Law No. 33/97 and above all in compliance with the scientific data acquired. to the records.
They reiterated that as regards the wild rabbit, two censuses have been completed and that there are no scientific data demonstrating the decline of this species and that, moreover, the collection of the Tortora is perfectly in line with the National Management Plan of this specific species.
The lawyers also documented the results of the study with technical data migration of thrushes and woodcock from which it is clear that the pre-nuptial migration begins in the third decade of March, unlike the environmental associations which unexpectedly affirm that the migration begins as early as January. Ultimately, it has been proven that the Hunting Calendar is correct and compliant with the guidelines provided by the European Community. We therefore remain confident in the work of the Palermo TAR judges (source: FIDC).
