A real revenge. Meat is once again one of the great passions of Italians, as highlighted by a research by Coldiretti which was made public on the occasion of the National Steak Day at the Peasant Village of Turin. Two out of three people in our country have decided to leave vegan diet, while in the year that is about to end a million consumers have returned to meat, milk and eggs. The vegan choice was just about it 0,9% of the total, while in 2017 the percentage was much higher (3% to be precise).
The information refers to a Eurispes survey. There are 460 Italian vegans, in particular women (two thirds) and young people. There is a great division on the judgment regarding this diet between those who consider it fanatic and those who respect and approve it. Coldiretti underlined how they are numerous fake news on the alleged negative effects of meat.
The agricultural association has pointed out the absence of studies on the criticalities of this food, indeed so far it has guaranteed a record life expectancy in our country. Among other things, the Italians focus a lot on quality, preferring the products from our own farms (45%), without forgetting local meats (29%) and denominations and indications (20%). The trend goes hand in hand with the great rise of game, healthy and certified by supply chains that are spreading across Italy.
