Sergio Berlato, regional coordinator for the Veneto of Fratelli d'Italia, expressed their opinion on the wolves matter. Here are his words: "While the institutions juggle in trying to unload their responsibilities to others, the wolves continue to tear apart an ever greater number of wild animals and farm animals. Wolf predations documented in Veneto are daily, with economic, faunal and environmental damage to now unbearable proportions.
We have moved from ideological positions of the type the wolf is not touched or type first the rights of the wolf and then the rights of the breeders to fancy positions like we sterilize the wolves and move the males to other territories. We clung to the slogan type wolves are crafty animals, even breeders and Malghesi get smart by equipping themselves with suitable means of prevention and passive defense (such as electrified nets or guard dogs) up to the gem of the proposal of the use of rubber bullets waiting to be able to capture the wolves to equip them with very expensive radio collars to be able to follow the movements.
Notwithstanding that rubber bullets do not make the wolves go hungry, one wonders how much public money would be needed for the study and capture of wolves to be able to equip them with radio collars. All for not wanting to follow the example of other European countries which, before Italy, they faced the problem of the excessive presence of large carnivores, monitoring the situation with accurate censuses, defining on a scientific basis the maximum number of subjects compatible with anthropic activities and with the safeguarding of the balance between the various species of fauna, finally deciding to eliminate all the items that exceed the maximum tolerable presence of our territory strongly anthropized.
How long will we still have to attend the ballet of the discharge of responsibilities and the staging of those who, even within the same governing party, say everything and the opposite of everything to please both the exponents of animal rights extremism and the breeders and the Malghesi who, with their daily presence and work, up to now they have guaranteed the maintenance of the territory and the protection of the environment? As long as certain politicians argue and others play the double part in comedy, the wolves continue to tear apart the cattle and an increasing number of Malghesi decide to leave the mountain with irreparable consequences for our territory ".
