In Vedano Olona (province of Varese), the wild boar problem is really serious, as reported by Coldiretti. The agricultural association used alarming words: "The meadows seem bombed. Until a couple of years ago they were as beautiful and regular as a pool table: we dedicated years of work and expenses to make them like this, to take care of them, to level them. Now it's all gone to waste. You pass the first raid. We restored everything and they returned, and again, and again. Up to today and the devastation that has become daily. And today these savages are no longer afraid of anything.
Unfortunately, the problem is common to the entire territory of our province: once again we highlight the concern and indignation of agricultural businesses, making us spokespersons for their requests and above all asking for concrete facts: of words, in recent years, we have heard too many. We are facing a very serious situation that requires us to keep a constant alert. The situation is serious and requires us to keep a constant alert. The concern is even more pronounced in this period, in which swine fever has reappeared in Europe: the fear is that these animals could carry the disease this far… so it is even more necessary to solve this situation soon beyond the limits, and not to notice the problem when it is too late to remedy it.
We will continue to monitor the situation, we need interventions immediately, because already today the ungulates are back in the fields, and damage is compounded by damage. We strongly urge companies to denounce every incursion suffered, and with them the citizens: now the wild are invading orchards and gardens and, in large areas of the Varese, the devastation is now close to the houses and gardens. It is an inadmissible situation, we certainly do not let our guard down ”.
